YBA ACADEMIC SCHOLAR PROGRAM

What is it?
A program that is designed to encourage the players within the club to focus on school first, and basketball second. Also, designed to recognize those athletes that are able to successfully balance their schoolwork, life and basketball.
What are the criteria?
4th grade - High School
4.0 GPA will be recognized as YBA "MVP Student Athlete"
3.0-3.99 GPA will be recognized as YBA "Honor Roll Student Athlete" Members
How can I nomination my player and how to submit?
You may submit your players' name at any time, using their most recent reports card. Submit Via email the player report card and copy your coach for validation of grades, and email the player name, GPA and team name to kengeeyba@gmail.com. If your player received a 4.0 GPA (or the equivalent of one), and you want to submit a picture and SHORT bio of your player, please submit a DIGITAL picture and EMAIL a bio to kengeeyba@gmail.com. Printed photos and bios will not be accepted.
Bios that are submitted may be altered or shortened to fit within the space constraints of the web page. We will do our best to keep the key points within the bios.
When does it begin?
The program is ongoing while school is in session.
What does the scholar/athlete receive?* (subject to change)
"MVP Student Athlete" scholar/athletes will get their photo on a special webpage on the YBA site along with a description of their academic achievements at the end of the spring season "MVP Student Athlete" will receive YBA or Nike gear or
"Honor Roll Student Athlete" scholar/athletes will get their name on the web site.
Where is the program headed?
Right now the sky is the limit, and the intricate details are being worked out. As we get the program off the ground, we will look to enhance the program in any way possible to benefit the scholar/athletes of the YBA Club. The YBA Club Board of Directors would like to see the program be able to offer scholarship dollars to deserving and qualifying graduating scholar/athletes to help them to further their education as they become successful members of our society.
We are currently seeking individuals or businesses that would like to donate to a YBA scholarship fund. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by Federal tax law.
